As I'm sure a lot of you have noticed, Sesshoumaru Fanfictions has been offline since a week ago. I'm sorry for not making a notice about this sooner and for not replying to the numerous emails I've gotten about it. This past week has not been kind to me, so to speak, so I thank all of you who have been patient with me. I'm sorry if this has caused a lot of you guys to get frustrated but I'd like to ask that you please do not email me just to flame me about this site going down- it doesn't help the cause one least bit. No names need to be mentioned, but I'd like to remind you that I made this site out of my own interest and for helping the fans have a place to share their fanfictions. Flames are really not the best way to get me to find a solution to put it back up.
Now that I have that out of the way, I guess it's time I explain why Sesshoumaru Fanfictions has suddenly disappeared without a warning. I would've sent out a warning if I could- but unfortunately, I didn't get much of a warning myself. In short, my host contacted me to tell me that my site's CPU usage was overloading the server too much and that my entire collective and all sites under it would be suspended if the matter was not taken care of. My sites were all pulled offline (including the main Sesshoumaru site, etc.) until I gave my word to eliminate the load. Since the root of the problem was really the Sesshoumaru Fanfictions, I made the decision to take that offline in order to keep the rest of my sites up.
So now what, you ask? I really don't know. I'm aware that this isn't the answer you guys want to hear but I'm open for suggestions. I've considered moving, but I get the feeling that the same scenario would happen soon enough as long as I'm on a shared server. All that said, there are two solutions that I can think of for now:
And then of course there's that option where Sesshoumaru Fanfictions goes bye-bye for good. This naturally isn't what I want. Let me make it clear now that I'm as frustrated about this as many of you are. When I first started my Sesshoumaru site, I was a big fan of his fanfictions and I've always intended on making a large database of it on my site. I'm really upset that this has to suddenly happen and I'm sorry you guys have to be stranded without the fanfictions right now.
Right now, the primary "ideal" solution seems to be a dedicated server or something similar for Sesshoumaru Fanfictions. I'm still looking into the packages available on reliable webhosting companies, but I can tell you now that they're too expensive for me to do this on my own. We're talking about approx. $150 per month here...and there's no way I can afford that. Ideas, anyone?
In any case, I also just want to reassure all the authors that your stories are not lost. I have the database backed up so it's safe. They're just not online at the moment.
Anyhow, suggestions or ideas are all appreciated while I figure out what to do about this problem. Once again, I'm really sorry abot this.
