Below are common reasons and instances where an application to the Sesshoumaru-gumi Clique was not accepted or where a previous member was taken off the list. You may resubmit again at any given time, but please read this section thoroughly and make sure that the following cases don't or no longer apply to you. Otherwise, you'll just be wasting my time and yours- and your submission still won't be approved.
If your name was previously on the member's list, but you no longer see it there:
In most cases, I will email you through the email address you had provided at the time of submission when I encounter a problem during my random checks of the member's list. If I don't hear from you after a week's time or if the email was returned to me, then your membership gets taken off the list during my following update. The problems I speak of are listed as follows.
- Your site gave me an error during one of my random checks. Usually, the URL no longer exists or the page won't load for one reason or the other.
- The member badge is no longer on your site, or I had failed to locate it in my attempt to search for its presence.
- The badge is incorrectly placed, whether it's showing a red X or it's not linked back to the gumi page.
- Your site was discovered to be sporting stolen content.
If you've submitted your info but did not see your name join the list:
Due to the overwhelming amount of submissions, I no longer email everyone I encounter an error or problem with. I make exceptions for special cases or when time allows me to do so. However, in the duration of this gumi's existence, I've come across a lot of common reasons why submissions don't get approved- so before you resubmit your info or email me about not being added, please take a look at the following list and make sure that none of it applies to you.
- You don't have a website (or one that works). Don't bother submitting and saying "Sorry, no website" because it's really a waste of time. And really, I honestly doubt that aol.com or yahoo.com is your website. Get a badge to show on it and maybe I'll believe you. Oh, and your email address is not an acceptable website address.
- You asked me what a website/url is and how to get one. If you don't know what a website/url is, then you most likely don't have one so you shouldn't be submitting anyway. And to answer the question on how to get or make a website, it'd be best to just take a look at my website creation help site at Owarinai Designs.
- A member's badge is not present at the website address that you gave me. I don't have time to hunt around every page to "make sure"- so if I don't see it in the obvious places like either the main page or the section for cliques and fanlistings, you don't get added. Simple as that. Besides, you're asked to give me the direct link to the page with the badge. I should not even have to hunt around for it.
- You commented in your submission that the badge "is not up yet" but will go up soon because you're updating your site (or some other similar reason). I said it in the rules section and I'll say it again. You must have the badge visibly on your site before you send in your submission. I will not be checking back after a given time and you won't get added- so make it easier on the both of us and just submit it after you've updated the site with the badge on it, ne?
- The badge is "there" on the site, but it's incorrectly placed for one reason or the other. Normally it's either not showing and ends up boasting the infamous red X or it's not linking back to this site. Sometimes you might also want to check the url that you're linking it to. I often come across a badge that's linked to some website that isn't the gumi page or it is but it's filled with typos.
- The badge was placed in your blog or web journal entry as opposed to the layout itself. Placing the badge inside an entry is not acceptable since they get pushed back in to archives as time passes and new entries come along- which means it won't always be visible on your site as a whole and I won't be able to locate it during my future checks of the member list.
- The website you've submitted isn't yours or it sports stolen content. This clique does not accept sites that have ripped off on other people's sites.
- You've entered lengthy phrases and/or quotes in your submission. I place limits on them for a reason and they're stated right there at the submission form so the least you can do is follow the maximum amount of words allowed rather than give me some long sentence or paragraph.
- Keep in mind that your "phrase" must include either Jaken, Rin, or Sesshoumaru and NOT other characters from Inuyasha. Your "quote" on the other hand, may include any character limited to those in the anime/manga, Inuyasha. I won't begin to say how many "I love Kenshin" quotes I got- those are not acceptable and your application will be discarded.
- The purpose of this clique is for fans of the Sesshoumaru-gumi...which means you're supposed to like them. Phrases and quotes expressing your hatred or dislike towards any of these 3 characters will not be accepted. I feel like this should be obvious, but apparently, it's not.
- You've used profanities in your submission. As much as you may want to fuck Sesshoumaru, I don't want that phrase littering on the member's list. *gasp* Yes, I've just said the f-word even though I said you can't. It must be done as it seems people don't understand what I exactly mean when I said "no profanities". And just to be even clearer- fuck and f*** is the same thing. I won't take astericked stuff.
- You've direct linked to the images of the badges instead of uploading it to your own server. I will not tolerate hotlinking and you will definitely not get added.
- The website you supplied required me to register or "become a member" of something or the other before I can view it. Neopets and horseland comes to mind, among others. I will not be registering with anything just to check for the badge. Sorry.
- Your site crashed my computer more than once. I know situations like these can be a little erratic, but if I can't view it for one reason or the other, I can't add you. To give your site a chance, I normally try to access your site twice if it's crashed my computer, but no more. I get vicious as it is when a site crashes my computer.
That's all for now. A little lengthy, yes? And these are only the common problems I come across. I will add to this when it's necessary for me to do so. In the meantime, I hope this list helps you in answering your questions as to why your submission isn't added. Naturally, there's also that possibility that the internet was being an unpredictable evil little thing and I somehow didn't get your submission. If you're sure you've followed the rules and none of the problems you read from the list above applies to you- then please resubmit because I really may not have gotten it. Thank you!
