Here, you can find some information regarding this site- what a fanlisting is and other related information in regards to Tenseiga. Please note that there won't be a whole lot of information or extras where Tenseiga itself is concerned. The Fanlisting • •

What is a Fanlisting? It's basically an online listing or "clique" that unites all the fans of a particular subject, in this case, the Tenseiga sword from Inuyasha. It's a good place to show off fans and also a way for fans to show their support and spread the love of said subject. By joining this fanlisting, you become a member officially listed as a "fan".

Simple as that. :) I like to think that it helps the fandom as well. It would be great if you could join in- Tenseiga is such an awesome sword after all. <3

The General Site • •

This fanlisting's name, "Someone to Protect", was inpired by the 3rd Inuyasha movie. In the movie, Sesshoumaru's father had asked him whether he had anything/anyone to protect and Sesshoumaru had claimed that he didn't and would never desire to protect another. Later on during a crucial point in a major battle where Sesshoumaru needed to use Tenseiga to help defeat an enemy, he was haunted by his father's question. While he still insisted in his mind that he had no one to protect, images of Rin and Jaken flashed by.

Does he have anyone to protect? He had saved both Jaken and Rin countless times, and although he may not admit it...I think he has more to lose than he believes. Toutousai had once mentioned that the power of Tenseiga may only be used by someone who has a desire to heal. In that sense, I think it only adds to the theory of having something to protect- hence the name of this fanlisting. :)

Layout-wise, I also used the main Tenseiga image from the 3rd movie plus the picture of Tenseiga pulsing in the anime series. There weren't many available pictures of the Tenseiga and it was quite difficult for me to make the layout. I'm actually a bit bummed about the layout because it didn't turn out as well as I had wanted it to. This layout was made with Photoshop 6.0, hand-coded on my Mac's plain text editor, and is validated XHTML 1.0.

The Tenseiga • •

Roughly translated as "Heavenly Life Fang"- For those who don't know what Tenseiga is, it's a sword from the Inuyasha series that contains the power to restore 100 lives with one swing. It's able to bring the dead back to life by killing the pall-bearers that comes to take the soul to the afterlife. Made by Toutousai and forged from Sesshoumaru's father's fang, this sword was inherited by Sesshoumaru after his father passed away. It's also a brother sword to Tessaiga, which has the power to kill 100 lives with one swing. Such a Godly sword, Sesshoumaru's father had called it the "Sword of Heaven" with the power from the realm of God.
